Guardian Builder Foundation is being formed as a care-centered AI ethics think tank. This policy explains what information we collect through guardianbuilder.org and how we use it.
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to submit through the site, including:
- name and email address;
- organization, role, or background;
- areas of interest, such as board service, research, conference planning, education, or cybersecurity ethics;
- messages submitted through the interest form;
- forum posts submitted for moderation;
- optional email addresses submitted with forum posts, which are not displayed publicly.
Technical information
To protect the site from abuse, our systems may process basic technical information such as browser user agent, request time, and a privacy-preserving hash of your IP address. We use the hash for rate limiting and abuse prevention; we do not need to store the raw IP address for ordinary form and forum operation.
How we use information
We use submitted information to:
- respond to people interested in Guardian Builder Foundation;
- recruit founding board members, advisors, volunteers, researchers, and collaborators;
- plan events such as Conference of Minds;
- moderate and display approved forum posts;
- protect the site from spam, harassment, and unsafe use;
- maintain basic records for organizational development.
Forum moderation and public posts
Forum submissions are moderated before publication. If approved, the name, topic, title, post body, and post date may appear publicly. Email addresses submitted with forum posts are used for moderation or follow-up and are not displayed publicly.
What not to submit
Please do not submit secrets, passwords, private credentials, sensitive personal information, confidential business information, medical information, financial account information, or unsafe cybersecurity instructions through this website.
Sharing
We do not sell submitted personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the website, database, email, moderation, or organizational workflows. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or to investigate abuse of the site.
Service providers
The site is hosted on Vercel. Form and forum data may be stored in a managed database provider selected by Guardian Builder Foundation. These providers process data on our behalf to operate the site.
Retention
We keep submitted information only as long as it is useful for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, or organizational reasons. If you want your contact submission removed, email us.
Your choices
You may ask us to update or delete contact information you submitted, subject to reasonable verification and legal or security limits. You may also ask us not to contact you again.
Children
This website is intended for adults and professional collaborators. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards for a small public-interest website, including input validation, moderated publication, rate limiting, environment-based secrets, and managed hosting/database infrastructure. No internet system is perfectly secure.
Changes
We may update this policy as the foundation, website, forum, and data practices develop. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
